Ellen DeGeneres joins American Idol as the Hollywood round unfolds today, February 9, as this season’s new celebrity judge. DeGeneres is straightforward all right but not annoying. She joins Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi in the panel of judges. Her presence is actually a refreshing one.

The international sensation, Charice Pempengco surely wowed the Italians during her appearance in the singing competition, Ti Lascio Una Canzone is Sanremo. She has followed it up with her awesome performance as she sang the “Star Spangled Banner” during the Dogers vs. Giants game last Monday, April 13, 2009.
