Ellen DeGeneres joins American Idol as the Hollywood round unfolds today, February 9, as this season’s new celebrity judge. DeGeneres is straightforward all right but not annoying. She joins Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi in the panel of judges. Her presence is actually a refreshing one.

After the surprise announcement from American Idol that Ellen DeGeneres will be joining the team of judges come Season 9 of the celebrated show this January, people came up with different reactions, most of them are positive.
